the world klslwsk crafts is one full of whimsy and infinitely reaching open skies. the method to his madness is to throw an ample amount of sweet, poppy stuff at you, then to space it out with darker club breaks, and i'll be damned if it doesn't work like a charm. manicure records has unleashed another track in their "#manicured" remix series, which can range from nightcore retouches to complete reformations, and it's somewhere in the middle where klslwsk's do-over of ariana grande's "be my baby" lies. manicure records has this long-term fascination with grande's music, and who can blame them when they make such great remix fodder? not me. here, we get doki-doki drums and a driving, kinetic rhythm that gradually takes over the vocals. it's a shock-and-awe approach to remixing that pays off in spades.
