Bruce Smear - Chlorine EP

this was one of my more anticipated ep releases of this year ever since i heard the first single, "pick & roll". for those who are unaware, bruce smear is tommy davidson of the band beach fossils, but if that band isn't your scene, don't sweat it. bruce smear's music lies on the complete opposite end of the spectrum from the post-punk dream pop of beach fossils; it instead has ties to uk bass and hip-hop, plus a touch of industrial, with its jagged, metallic percussion, wide-eyed elasticity, and the restless synthesizers. to put it simply, his chlorine ep is one of the freshest releases i've heard all year and well worth your time and money if you enjoy dis magazine sponsored artists and/or radically inventive electronic music. i included a stream of the entire ep just above so you can see if you enjoy it before you make any commitments.
