Guy Akimoto - BaeBae EP

one of the funner (more fun?) things to do is to surf the soundcloud. through likes, reposts, and comments of artists you love, you're bound to find some good stuff if you surf hard enough. guy akimoto, also apparently known as an artist who is also a last.fm user recently released the baebae ep on a label bandcamp page, and after both a remix and a repost courtesy of our bff maxo, i was led to check it out. the flirtatious technobabble and alluring, exo-electronic presentation of all three songs imply the ep to be a conceptual piece pertaining to the sudden, obsessive influx of technology in our lives. it's, perhaps, a warning of things to come, when the tech becomes not only complementary, but the entirety of what we live for. dark, dark themes for upbeat music, but it's casually enjoyable as well, especially with its amusing early 90's instructional video vibe.
