earlier this year, producer tala burst onto the scene with one of the best eps all year, the duchess ep; it had three increasingly great bangers that showed a mature sense of melody and craft, and made her a talent to watch in the coming year. now, she's back with a confirmed second ep, and the first single off it is "black scorpio". the duchess had bright, colourful hip-shakers like the ebullient "serbia", but if "black scorpio" is any indication, the next ep is going to be much darker and more sinister, which is totally fine by me. the production is still detailed as hell, and tala continues to show her skill with electronic music.
