maltine signee tomggg is certainly one of my favourite producers on an already jubilant label that trades in some of the happiest music known to man. their precocious, homemade spin on j-pop can warm the cockles of the coldest heart, and 「eye candy」 spins a similar tale with such limited space. running just over 2 minutes, the song flutters between heartpoundingly sincere sweetness and dance-pop breaks, which isn't unlike his labelmates on maltine record, but 「eye candy」's qualities lend themself well to replaying over and over, as i promptly did after first hearing it.
