PC Music Blowout!

for fans of pc music like me, the past week was definitely amazing; jam-packed with content, a new remix surfacing, and the advertised "dead or alive" halloween show, it was an exciting time to be around. said show was an online performance round-robin mega-stream, with the lineup being:

- lil data
- lipgloss twins (interlude)
- gfoty
- thy slaughter
- danny l harle
- spinee
- a. g. cook
- life sim
- kane west

a video of the full "dead or alive" show has yet to surface, but fortunately, the last 20 minutes or so were uploaded to youtube the other day, and features a. g. cook (aka a. g. spook), life sim (aka death sim) and kane west (aka pain west and kane ghost). a. g.'s set was spellbinding, and contained an unreleased remix of "hard" that easily ranks among the top highlights of the entire show. life sim's somber, eerie set had visuals mocking "spot the ghost" images, with somewhat unreliable "spottings" in rather mundane, hilarious photos. kane west did what kane west does best, performing with a visually intrusive green and white filter that makes the video just as inaccessible as his midi house sound and affinity for comic sans. a certain michael jackson remix shows up too, and totally makes his set. pc music sure knows how to celebrate hallow's eve with style, fun, and a little bit of cheeky self-reflexiveness.

the rest of the show's audio has thankfully turned up, and can be downloaded right here. another comedic highlight of the night involves danny l harle (aka danny skel harle) having a tussle with a rather insidious skeleton that ends up ruining his set and forcing bored viewers to tune out, only for the twist reveal that danny was the skeleton all along. great stuff.

to top this post off, here's an unreleased remix of tiga's "bugatti", courtesy of life sim. the trance-like retooling is damn catchy and equally as danceable. "boy comes up to me and says/what you driving?/i said/bugatti, bugatti." nice!
